Security cameras to be installed at historic cemetery

The entrance to Milton Historic Cemetery

The city of Milton will install 4 new security cameras in various locations within the Milton Historic Cemetery. The need for cameras within the graveyard was a topic of conversation with city staff and cemetery board officials due to vandalism incidents over the past five years.  Joe Cook, public works director said the cameras are equipped with night vision and anyone caught vandalizing the cemetery will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

There are 4,200 burial sites within the historic cemetery, many well over a century old.
