Gas Leaks
If you smell a gas leak, call 911 or the Milton Police Department at 850-983-5420. They will dispatch the correct gas department officials immediately.
Natural gas is a colorless, odorless gas that is lighter than air, so in the event of a leak, it will rise. To help detect leaks easily, a product called mercaptan is added to our gas to give it an odor similar to rotten eggs.
